Adoption and foster care...During these three years of ttc and infertility treatments we have often thought of these too options. Adoption is a viable option for us cause we have seen how wonderful is it close hand. Brian's older brother and sister are adopted and so is a close friend of me.Honestly, late this past summer we almost said to heck with IVF. Let's just adopt. So we checked into it. I called 2 local agencies and several international agencies. The cost first off dumbfounded me. We were looking at $22,000 plus in most cases. But we weren't too discouraged. So we actually talked to one local agency about adopting a biracial child. In our area of West Texas they don't adopt out too well so the agency even helps discount the costs. Well I don't want to get too far into why but let's just say she (the Director) has been in the adoption business for 20+ years and said we wouldn't probably be approved. Brian and I have been Christians 7 and 6 years respectively. But we always weren't. So there are some skeletons in the closet. :( Anyway that's why we haven't pursued it. It's sad cause that was such a long time ago and really means nothing as to who we are now. But those long ago actions have long reaching consequences.
