Dr. Gary Steinman is doing a study on women who transferred two embryos and had triplets. Well I emailed him my details and he said in the studies he has reviewed, cases like mine may happen as much as five percent of the time. I am pretty sure he means 5 percent of the women who get pregnant with triplets after transferring 2 embryos. I emailed him to clarify. Plus the study he is publishing hopes to show why this happens and how to prevent it. He said he will email me when he gets it published.Another interesting note - this past Friday I spoke to the embryologist at my IVF clinic and she said babies born of triplet pregnancies have a higher incidence of congenital heart problems and/or genetic problems.
